Ramayan's 'Ravan' Arvind Trivedi Passes Away At 82; His Co-stars Sunil Lahri, Dipika Chikhlia And Others Mourn His Demise

Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who was widely known for playing ‘Ravan’ in the mythological TV show Ramayan, breathed his last on Tuesday night.

After Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fame Ghanshyam Nayak’s sudden death, the industry has lost another gem. Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who was widely known for playing the character of ‘Ravan’ in Ramanand Sagar’s cult mythological TV show Ramayan, passed away in Mumbai on Tuesday night. He was 82 years old. According to reports, the veteran actor was not keeping well for quite some time and died after suffering a heart attack and multiple organ failure.

As soon as the sad news of Arvind Trivedi’s demise broke out, heartfelt tributes and condolences poured in from his co-actors, fans, and friends from the industry. His costars Sunil Lahir, Dipika Chikhlia, Arun Govil, Ashoke Pandit among others took to Twitter to mourn his tragic demise.

While paying his last respects, Sunil, who played Lakshman in the show, tweeted, “Bahut dukhad Samachar hai ki Hamare Sabke Pyare Arvind bhai (Ravan of Ramayan) Ab Hamare bich Nahin Rahe Disappointed but relieved face Bhagwan Unki Atma ko Shanti De...I am speechless I lost father figure, my guide, well wisher & gentleman.”

Actress Dipika also took to Instagram and penned an emotional note that read, “my heart felt condolences to his family …a very fine human being #arvindtrivedi #ravan.”



Ashoke Pandit tweeted, "Sad to know about the demise of well known theatre,tv & film actor #ArvindTrivedi ji due to massive heart attack. My heartfelt condolences to his entire family & near ones. ॐ शांति !"



The last rites of Arvind Trivedi will take place in Mumbai on Wednesday morning.

Arvind Trivedi, who was the acting chairman of the Censor Board for Film Certification (CBFC), acted in close to 300 films including Hindi and Gujarati.
